One of a kind custom made "MAD MEN" era vintage evening gown of midnight blue silk satin in a column style with a wide diagonal sash of emerald green.
The bodice is pleated in the front and all the way around the back the design makes it appear that the sash starts at the right shoulder strap going through the pleats and going down the left side. But in reality, it is a clever way the designer put folds in the material. The dress is very flattering on with its darted waist and full hips. It has a full back metal zipper.
There are no kick pleats however the green part of the sash begins a lined side slit, which is hidden. This dress is very hard to explain but is amazing in design. Completely lined in taffeta. No label.
This was custom made for Sonja Loew, a Czech who married theater magnate E. M. Loew and was fabulous for her generosity, outrageous outfits, and indecipherable accent. She is sitting next to Zsa Zsa Gabor in this photo.
